At the age of 15 I decided to create my non profit Girls Above Society. I had several friends who thought it was weird (Those who were negative fell off the friends list quickly). The hard work and effort really paid off and I am so glad I get to see Girls Above Society move forward & empower more girls each year. The journey wasn't always fun or easy. There were times I hit a wall and couldn't find the traction. There were times that I felt alone while my friends posted on social media about all the fun times they were having. One thing I have learned is that if you have a passion, don't allow anyone to decide its worth. I used my inner Girl Power and only allowed those who supported me into my small circle. Yes, it was lonely at times, but when I think of all the girls who gain confidence and realize their self worth because of Girls Above Society, everything else seems so small.
Oprah Winfrey whom I love and admire had a very rocky start as well. I can't imagine what life would be like without Oprah!! Yikes! So glad she used her inner Girl Power to rock and change the world for good.
